Deal is a town on the south east coast of England, we have been spending a bit of time down there as it is close to our holiday home it’s a really nice place and well worth a visit.

Great pubs.

Medina   22 comments

This will probably be my last post until after Christmas as I have loads to do, I must even get out and do some xmas shopping at some point, I was trying to think of what to post about when I looked next to me and saw a rug I purchased in Tangier a while back, A mate and I had hired a local guide and were walking around the old Medina in Tangier, he took us to a carpet shop, I’m pretty sure it was owned by his uncle. As you can see by the next few shots there was plenty to choose from.

Tangier Rugs

And More.

Still More.

Even on the roof.

And you may well asks what we were doing on the roof, as part of the sales pitch the owner took us up there to show us the view.

Tangier

I think it was worth it.

And it worked because I can see the rug from where I’m sitting now.

Have a great Christmas.

More Bruges   11 comments

Yeah I know, but my hands are tied at the moment, I was going to do ‘Bars in Bruges’ but didn’t think the server would be able to cope with that, and they were just the ones I went into!

So just a mixture today, here is one tourist attraction most people like, although he can be a bit noisy at times.

The Belfry tower is no less than 83 metres high, that is 366 steps! Your athletic efforts will be rewarded with a breath-taking view of Bruges and its surrounding countryside.

Although the safety grills on the windows are not designed with large lens cameras in mind.

Bruges Doors   14 comments

Still in Bruges, but this time with doors, I don’t know what it is about doors but they tend to capture my eye a lot, saying that, the doors are normally the entrance to a pub. However the next few doors are not leading into any bars, and the first two I would definitely not like to exit when leaving a bar.

Bruges Bridges   6 comments

And there are a lot of them, which of course makes this such a wonderful city to walk around, you are never short of a great view and without the bridges you would get wet feet.

I’m not going to go on about Bruges, you can check it out here it is a beautiful city, easy to get to from London via Eurostar and only take a couple of hours, plenty of Lace for the ladies and Beer for the boys.

This is the oldest bridge in Bruges according to our tour guide, however if you do a search you will get others saying it’s a different bridge.

This is another old bridge in Bruges.

i-phone Friday   14 comments

I-phone Friday comes of course from Hastings, where the wife and I spent last weekend.

First night in a nice Turkish restaurant, seat covers took a bit of getting use too.

But the Lamps were nice.

Finish the night as we started.

A walk down the Old Town the following morning.

Some cool looking shops, shame it was closed.

I think I’m off to Israel on Monday, and its to the rig with no wi-fi, so have a great weekend and i’ll post again as soon as I can.

Last of the Door’s   23 comments

Last door post, for this week anyway, these doors have been brought to you today all the way from Tangier, strictly specking it’s two doors and an arch. I’m surprised how many door photo’s I’ve got, a lot of comments yesterday said “we all love a door”

I’m off on holiday next week so may not be able to post, but we are staying in the grounds of a castle so hopefully I will get a few good shots of the British country side, have a great weekend.

Old Doors   18 comments

I’ve calmed down from my rant yesterday and back to my chilled self, quick post today as I’m on my way out, these are a couple of shots I took while walking around Limassol in Southern Cyprus, unfortunately when I was there almost every road was being ripped up for some reason or another and there was a lot of the town I couldn’t get to, still what I saw was very nice.

There is a lot of shops like this, the doors get opened and the display set up and they sit and wait.

Other doors remain closed all day.

Old City 2   6 comments

Here is the second instalment from the Old City, I did warn you! Again, all processed with Snapseed .

The guy on the right is thinking ‘bloody tourist’ as after jogging down the hill I suddenly stopped, turned, took the shot and then ran on.

The ramps are for easy access, the person in the wheelchair lives half way up the hill, the person on the Unicycle lives at the top.

Another inside market, you see the numbers attached to the lights, thats their pitch marking. You do not want to setup in the wrong place like the guy on the left.

This is the Old Imperial Hotel. Built just inside Jaffa Gate, one of the entrances to the Old City. The new Imperial Hotel is on the other side of the gate.

Thanks for looking. Please leave a comment/suggestion. And if you would like to follow my blog please click in the right hand side box.

Sunflower   Leave a comment

After walking around the Old town in Tangier we came across a bustling market, loads of noise from all the haggling and the smell of food in the air, it was great, I grabbed a cold bottle of water off one of the vendors and as I took a swig I came face to face with this cool Sunflower, it almost seemed out of place.
