It’s nice to be home again, it was a long day travelling yesterday but I did manage to get a great view of London getting ready for the Olympics as we flew into City Airport, which is only a hammer throw from where it all kicks off tonight.

Would like to say good luck to Gemma (my son’s girlfriend) who is dancing at the opening ceremony tonight. ‘Good luck’

I don’t know what today’s photo has to do with any of this, it was taken next to the rundown house so that is the only link I can think of.

Meet Archie   8 comments

This is our new dog, his name is Archie and he’s a Labradoodle, yeah that is a real breed, it’s a mixed breed, I think you can guess which two dogs are used.
He’s a designer-Dog first created in Australia to be the ultimate doggie companion and guide for people with sight impairment or total blindness.
He’s 4 months old and very playful, here he has just chased our cat downstairs, he then lost sight of Sid, gave up and sat down.

Jubilee Day   15 comments

This is my take on yesterdays Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, grey, dull with a splash of colour. Why? you may ask. Because of the good old British weather. I looked out the window in the morning and said to myself  “What a shame the weather has been so nice for the last couple of weeks” and then I watched the celebrations on the telly. What I should of done, like hundreds of thousands of other people was, grabbed my wellies, my coat, my hat and camera and headed down to the Thames and joined in the celebrations, had fun, had a hotdog and got wet. Thats the British spirit, that’s what put the Great in Great Britain. So who had the most fun yesterday, well everyone but me. So next time, don’t be like me, get out there and do it and be proud when you say I was there”.

Prom Night   12 comments

Friday night was my Son’s prom night. His all boy’s school joined up with the neighbouring all girls school for this one off get together. We couldn’t let them catch a bus or have mum or dad drop them off, can you image that, so we got them a Stretched Limo from Twin Wheels Limousine so they could arrive in style.

Here they are getting ready to leave, they look like something out of Ocean’s 11!

All smiles, must be the thought of the all girls waiting for them!.

A great night was had by all. A big thank you goes to all the staff that helped make the night such a memorable one!

Hope you all had a great weekend, I spent Saturday traveling with my wife, We jumped in the car and drove all the way to………… our local garden centre. Why you may ask? To buy plants? To look at water sculptors? No! We were there for the Weber BBQ roadshow. Now I’m a Kiwi and we live on BBQ’s and I think if you are going to get a BBQ get a Weber, just my personal choice. So anyway Weber turn up in this amazing Airstream all kitted out and ready to go, Just plug in the gas.

Dan their talented chef was very informative, friendly and clearly skilled.

We got there just as the free tasting started (pure fluke honest) First out was Cedar-Planked Cod with Coriander (Fish baked on a piece of wood) which was really nice. Then came Chorizo, chickpea and roast garlic stew, cooked in a Wok. Next up was a strange one, Beer can Chicken, You open a can of beer, take sip, place it in a specially designed stand and then place the chicken over the top of the can, great taste, at this stage I didn’t think it could get any better until the Butterfly leg of lamb with black cherry glaze appeared, that was to die for. After a short break pizza’s were made and I’m sure some desserts, but we had had enough. After checking out the large display of BBQ’s and accessory’s and parting with some ££££’s we squeezed our new BBQ into the car and headed home. All in all a great day out and worth a visit, check out the web site and see where they will be next time.

There is also a great app for your iPad.

The great thing about the Airstream was if you couldn’t see what was going on, look up at the celling.

Kitted out nicely
