Who is Rigmover?

As part of a small team I travel the world moving and positioning Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU). Well thats what I use to do, now I just chill.

I thought people might be interested so started to carry a camera with me, this is the result.
Many Thanks

Hope you enjoy my blog.

I don’t know why I’m standing like that!

  8. Don’t have any awards to offer but I think it’s great you’re blogging. I quit working on drilling rigs (mostly mudlogging, I’m a geo) a couple years ago to focus on the photog., but may be returning soon. This encourages me to keep up the blogging when/if I do. Thanks.

  9. Hi there,

I’m the second mate on the Maersk laser, I found your blog after searching for info about the laser, coincidentally for my own blog, I started it 2weeks ago and after seeing your blog it’s definitely given me a whole new level of professionalism to reach with my own.

I hope all is well over there.

    • Hi Spencer, thanks for the visit, yeah get in there and start blogging, ill check out your blog. You’ve had some pretty rough seas for a while, hope its calmed down now.

  10. You say that you are not a photographer, but you are very talented and I look forward to seeing more of your shots!
By the way, like yourself, I love travelling too. And until now, the most beautiful place that I have visited, in my opinion, is your home country: New Zealand 🙂

  11. Thanks for stopping by my blog! =) You’ve got some great pics here! Cheers!

  12. Stumbled on your blog via Adam Allegro’s blog, you have some great photos and coincidentally I was watching a documentary about rig movers only a couple of nights ago! You must get to see some awesome stuff to photograph as you are doing your job as well as while your feet are on solid ground.

  13. Thanks for showing us places and people thru your lens. You have a very good eye. Best, The Cooks Austin, Texas

  14. Dear Rigmover, I have nominated your blog for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award. If you are interested in participating you can pick up your badge and the rules for this award here: http://correnadotme.wordpress.com/2013/01/25/twice-is-nice/

  15. Great photos and what a cool job you have. We Kiwi’s are certainly very hands on and travel worthy 🙂 I enjoy reading through your blog !

  16. Great to ‘meet’ a fellow kiwi living away from home and doing something interesting! Great Blog – thanks for stopping by the Our Adventures in Croatia blog & for your comments there. Cheers, Ruth

  17. It’s a great stance. Such class! I’d stand that way–if I could. Are you on a ship? (Probably an ignorant professorish question)

  18. I work in transport logistics during the Summer but I have never come across anything like this 🙂 If we ever get asked to move something this big I know who to contact.

    Best wishes

  19. Hi 🙂 thanks for the visit to wordcarmen. Returning the compliment… I enjoy your photos. I hope you continue to snap away 🙂 See you around Rigmover.

  20. I’m Guessing you work for ***** lol

  21. Nice pics .. nice blog 🙂

  22. Hi Rigmover,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m glad you liked some of my posts. That allowed me to find yours. I like it. I’ve also done a few rig moves. My rigs are all DP tho and basically we move ourselves, even if we do have tugs sometimes. I LOVE working offshore. I can see you enjoy it too. It’s cool that you’re in London. I wish I could go somewhere other than the Gulf of Mexico again. The weather is better here but that’s about all I can say for it.
Fair winds and following seas! 😉

  23. Hi. Cool blog.

  24. Beautiful and stunning photos! Thanks for allowing me to “travel” with you! 🙂

  25. I’m so glad I saw you over at Lenscaper’s blog. When I saw “rigmover,” I just had to come look, and my suspicions were confirmed. I live at the fringe of Galveston Bay, have done some sailing, and for years used the Bullwinkle rig in Port Aransas as a landmark. When they towed that out to sea, mariners of every sort were discombobulated for months.

I’m looking forward to browsing around, and learning from your photography, too. I’ve got my first digital camera, and have discovered that looking at lots and lots of good photos is both motivation and instructive. Cheers!

  26. What a Cool job!! Enjoying the blog!!
